Okó is the Orisha of the farm and the harvest Okó. The image depicts village life in the centre and the paths leading out to the farm and the animals peering in from the edge of the forest, to the living compound. This image is about the unity of human beings, animals and nature and how farming on a subsistence small level is the way that we can live naturally together and respect one another’s space - benefiting each other. Okó, is a strong hunter & farming deity as well as a fighter against sorcery. He is associated with the annual new harvest of the white African yam.
