This AW25 season, 22 African fashion brands from 10 countries captivated audiences at Shanghai Fashion Week with the groundbreaking initiative ‘Africa Reimagined.’ The showcase marked a pivotal moment, introducing African design to the Chinese and broader Asian markets.

 

Untapped Creatives Brands

In perfect alignment with Untapped Creatives’ mission, the event highlighted the innovation, diversity, and artisanal brilliance of African designers on a global platform. With a focus on luxury rooted in heritage — think handmade weaving, natural dyeing, and sustainable craftsmanship - we were proud to see three Untapped Creatives brands take the spotlight:

I. Imprint Za

Pan-AfricanAfro-futuristic fashion brand from South Africa, founded by Mzukisi Mbane. Joined Untapped Creatives in 2025.

II. Orange Culture

Orange Culture is a Nigerian fashion label and movement that challenges traditional gender norms and embraces diversity. Joined Untapped Creatives in 2023.

III. Kente Gentlemen

An ethical fashion brand founded in Côte d'Ivoire, focuses on celebrating cultural heritage through contemporary designs that incorporate handwoven fabrics. Joined Untapped Creatives in 2021.

Curators of Meaningful  Luxury

As China emerges as an important force in the luxury and lifestyle space, it is a new market that can be highly beneficial for African and African diaspora designers, where their designs can be appreciated beyond the lens of Western interpretation. Incredibly timely in the current luxury climate.

Initiatives like Africa Reimagined and our own Untapped Creatives’ Emerging Luxury Fashion Showcase, initiated at Soho House in May 2024, offer a new luxury language for the discerning consumer that cultivates meaningful luxury — one rooted not in fleeting trends, but in beautiful storytelling, sustainable legacy, and meticulous artistry.
